Website of Pashu Chikitsak Mahasangh launched by Secretary DADF, GOI

Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries (DADF) Tarun Shridhar inaugurated the official website of Pashu Chikitsak Mahasangh (PCM) namely and dedicated it to Veterinarians of the country in New Delhi on Tuesday. On this occasion, a seminar on “Role of Vets in doubling farmer’s income” was also organized. Other dignitaries present on the occasion were Animal Husbandry Commissioner, Dr. Suresh S. Honnappagol, Director General Animal Husbandry Haryana, Dr. G S Jakhar and President of PCM Dr. Chirantan Kadian.

Speaking in his opening note Tarun Shridhar asked the Pashu Chikitsak Mahasangh to develop the website as an effective platform for sharing knowledge and developing a database. The Secretary agreed to constitute a committee to study the introduction of Combined Vaccine of Haemorrhagic Septicemia and Foot and Mouth Disease including a representative of stakeholders. He also dealt with the issue of Veterinary Council of India and assured of prompt action.

Dr. Suresh S. Honnappagol elaborated on the schemes of DADF and the role of Veterinarians and appealed for more dedication for the upliftment of the farming community. He stressed on the need of Veterinarians on technical up-gradation of knowledge and specialized in the field of In-vitro fertilization and Embryo transfer.

Dr Jakhar congratulated the president PCM Dr. Chirantan and lauded his effort on launch of an informative official website. Dr Jakhar spoke in length on role of Vets in doubling the farmer’s income. He stressed that statistically it will be a big spurt if animal husbandry inputs are upgraded. He also suggested on the introduction of combined vaccine in the country which could significantly reduce the cost of vaccination.

PCM official website apart from providing information to the Vets also provides an option of online membership of Pashu Chikitsak Mahasangh.
